The Industrial Engineering & Management Systems department is proud to announce & celebrate: Ms. Rana Riad a recipient of the 2014 Order of Pegasus Award! “Order of Pegasus is the most prestigious and significant award a student can attain at the University of Central Florida. Order of Pegasus recognizes exemplary performance by UCF bachelor’s degree students in the areas of academic achievement, outstanding university involvement, leadership, and community service.”
Ms. Rana Riad is currently a student in the Industrial Engineering BS to MS program, the Burnett Honors College and a participant in the Lead Scholars Program. Rana serves on the President’s Leadership Council as Vice Chair. Through her selflessness and commitment to serve and help others, Rana has donated countless hours of community service, volunteering for the Children’s Miracle Network, Children’s Home Society, and Central Florida elementary school programs. In addition, the IEMS department selected Rana as their nominee for the 2014 Founder’s Day Award. Letters of recommendation submitted on her behalf for the award have illustrated, “Her sense of responsibility, moral character, integrity, dedication, and eagerness to learn are very important” (Dr. Rabelo). “Her high levels of scholarship, research capability, communication skills, service and energy provide strong credentials for being highly successful in graduate school” (Dr. Thompson). “Rana has truly demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service…” (President Hitt).
