Catherine Ninah, an undergraduate student majoring in Industrial Engineering, is one of two UCF students who was presented with the prestigious Astronaut Scholarship on October 13th, 2016.

The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation exists to help the United States retain its position of leadership in innovation by encouraging students to pursue advanced educations and careers in the STEM fields. The foundation awards scholarships to the top 40 U.S. STEM students and gives Astronaut Scholars access to a mentoring network where they can connect with astronauts, each other, and innovative technology leaders throughout the nation. The prestigious Astronaut Scholarship is known for being among the most significant scholarships awarded to undergraduate STEM students.

Catherine Ninah is also a Boeing, Society of Women Engineers, and Material Handling Institute Scholar. She is currently an intern at Siemens Energy and in the past, she has been an intern for Dell and Duke University’s Center for Environmental Implications of Nanotechnology.
