The Industrial Engineering graduate program has earned a top-40 ranking in the U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools guide.
The program placed No. 35 in the nation in rankings for Best Grad Schools, up 13 spots from last year.

UCF’s Industrial Engineering graduate program is designed to educate and prepare individuals interested in optimizing complex processes or systems in industry with emphasis on mathematics and quantitative methods. Students specialize in areas such as operations research, systems engineering, modeling and simulation, engineering management, quality engineering, and human factors and ergonomics.
“I am very glad that our sustained efforts to improve the quality of our M.S., M.S.I.E. and Ph.D. programs, and the introduction of our Master of Science in Engineering Management program, are paying off, especially since most programs in the top 30 have been there a long time,” said Waldemar Karwowski, chair, Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems.
More than 1,200 programs are reviewed nationwide for the magazine’s annual graduate school guide. Scores are based on expert opinions about programs and statistical indicators that reflect the quality of faculty, researchers and students at each institution.
