BAE Systems is pleased to announce an opening for an Engineer II - Performance Excellence (Quality Assurance) supporting our operations in Fort Walton Beach, FL. BAE Systems Aviation Programs provides aircraft modification, aircraft electronics and logistics support as well as flight test and operations services for U.S. and foreign customers.
The basic purpose and objective of this position is to provide quality/engineering expertise to meet the engineering design, documentation and quality requirements for a variety of aviation/aerospace related products and services. Included but not limited to this expertise is the ability to analyze, test, and report findings of Root Cause/Corrective Action and suggest improvements to the organization's processes, configuration of the products or designs. In order to perform in this environment the incumbent must posses the necessary education and technical abilities to review, understand, and interpret documentation, drawings and specifications, in accordance with military, commercial, and federal standards. In addition the incumbent must be computer literate and posses excellent communication skills.
The incumbent must also be able to:
• Support the Performance Excellence (Quality Assurance) objectives
• Communicate Performance Excellence philosophy to key personnel in organization
• Collaborate effectively with the other members of the PE group and
• Review data obtained during PE and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures
• Develop solutions to problems identified during quality assurance activities
• Prepare and present technical and program information to the management team and other diverse groups
• Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards
• Investigate and address customer complaints regarding quality
• Assist in the development and improvement of the Performance Excellence procedures and processes.
• Assist in the establishment, tracking, analysis, & reporting on key quality metrics
• Promote a culture of quality awareness
• Assist in the maintenance of organizational certifications, e.g., ISO9000, AS9100, etc.
• Participate in and lead auditing of the quality management system
Qualifications:
• Must have strong leadership abilities with highly developed interpersonal skills
• Must have a BS degree and 3 to 7 years of quality experience in a design, manufacturing or production environment
• ISO 9000:2000/AS9100, DOD, and MIL-STD experience
• Aircraft experience

• Experience in inspection techniques/methods/equipment
• A&P License
• Military aviation maintenance training and experience
• FAA experience
• ISO 9000 training and experience
• AS9100/AS9110 training and experience
• Familiar with measuring/inspection equipment
