$2.6 Million Gift from Presagis

Oct. 28, 2014 - Presagis, a world leader in Modeling and Simulation software, was recognized for their in-kind gift of the Presagis Suite software valued at $2.6 million. Dr. Michael Georgiopoulos, dean, College of Engineering and Computer Science, was presented with a ceremonial check by Jean-Michel Brière, Presagis General Manager, in an event held in the Lockheed Martin Synthetic Environment Learning Laboratory.

Dr. Michael Proctor, associate professor in Industrial Engineering and Management Systems was instrumental in bringing this prominent software to UCF’s classroom that will support two UCF programs, the interdisciplinary Modeling and Simulation program and selected programs in the Industrial Engineering and Management Systems department.

The Presagis software suite offers a unique end-to-end modeling and simulation capability.  From creation of the synthetic natural environment to population of the environment with semi-autonomous agents and human controlled avatars, the Presagis suite enables engineers, educators, and systems engineers to simulate many systems analysis and training scenarios.  This includes not only traditional flight simulation but also simulation of modern-day UAS swarms mounted with various sensors conducting operations over and within both rural and urban environments. It will go to immediate use in supporting Interactive Simulation course, EIN5255, this fall.
