Vision
Our vision is consistent with our culture and values at the ASQ-UCF Student
Chapter. Our vision is divided into short-term goals and long-term goals.
Short-term Goals
•
To increase the number of members presenting in quality conferences.
• This year students will participate in the IEMS Conference, AQC and
also in
the QMD Conference.
• To strengthen the relationship between the student and professional
section.
• To update the ASQ Student Chapter website with the agenda for the
period 2004-2005.
• To increase the number of UCF students with Six Sigma Greenbelt and
Blackbelt certifications.
• Dr. Elshennawy is currently teaching a Total Quality Improvement course
which includes five separate Six Sigma projects. The class offers thirty two
UCF students the opportunity to earn Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification.
• To send five Student Chapter members to the 59th AQC conference in
Seattle, Washington.
• To gather information about the members’ needs and expectations
from the ASQ UCF student chapter.
• To increase student participation in Student Chapter activities, and
ASQ section 1509 dinner meetings.
• To hold more meetings for UCF students with quality industry speakers
to give real world examples and networking opportunities.
Long-term Goals
•
Accomplish the previous short-term goals and make them become a living, breathing
part of our club
• Higher percentage of active students that can improve and expand the
club
• Create new scholarships such as “ASQ-UCF Scholarship”
and “Deming Scholarship”
• Increasing the number of internships for our students
• Stronger relationship with quality-focused businesses
• Higher interaction with the ASQ Senior Chapter (1509)
• Improving the relationship with other engineering clubs that can drive
our club to specialized sections. Example: Computer Engineering ASQ Section,
Manufacturing Engineering ASQ Section, Mechanical Engineering ASQ Section,
etc.
Our hope is that these short-term and long-term goals can be the structure and basis of a new club culture for the new generations of ASQ-UCF student members and future officers. It is our best intention to design a road map that can be reviewed and improved annually by the future ASQ-UCF officers taking always into account the inputs from our club members.
