March 9 – May 20, 2011 Submit Intent to Graduate form and survey to Joy for Summer 2011 graduation.
March 21 - May 15, 2011 Registration for Sessions A, C, & D (Session B – March 21-June 26)
May 13, 2011 GTA Training Deadline (mandatory for graduate assistants who will be working directly with students in any way)
May 16, 2011 Classes begin for Sessions A, C, & D (Session B – June 27)

June 17, 2011 Graduate Master’s Thesis Format Review Deadline – Last day to submit a bookmarked PDF draft of your Thesis to the editor.  Students who fail to submit their Thesis by this date will not be guaranteed a format review in time for final submission.

June 17, 2011 Deadline to send PhD Thesis Announcement to Jodi for IEMS approval.
June 20, 2011 Announcement of defense Must be sent to Jodi. One page abstract MUST be approved by the Thesis/ Dissertation advisor before it is sent. All Thesis/Dissertation Chairs, Co-Chairs, and Committee members MUST be present at defense. NO food and drinks allowed.
June 24, 2011 Deadline to post PhD Thesis Announcement on college (CECS) website.
July 4, 2011 Independence Day
July 6-7, 2011 Masters Oral comprehensive Exam
July 8, 2011

Graduate Thesis and Dissertation Defense deadline.
July 22, 2011

Deadline to submit final approved copies of Thesis/Dissertation to Thesis Editor. Upload final Thesis/Dissertation must be uploaded by 5:00pm in order to meet the Summer 2011 deadline.
August 5, 2011 Deadline for Submitting Candidacy Paperwork to the Department for Processing.
 
Note:  Processing of candidacy paperwork all the way through CGS must be completed no later than August 19, 2011. Therefore it is recommended that candidacy paperwork be submitted to the department by August 5!  We cannot guarantee that candidacy paperwork will be fully processed if submitted to the Department after August 5, 2011!

MS Program Workshop (new and continuing students), 10:00am– 11:30am, ENGII Bldg.  Rm 103, Contents:  Program requirements, GRE and GPA contingencies, program of study, thesis requirements and procedures, oral comprehensive examination.

Ph.D. Workshop(new and continuing students), 1:00-2:30pm, ENGII Bldg. RM 103, Contents:  Intro to IEMS Ph.D. program, admission requirements, qualifying examination, overview of candidacy and dissertation requirements assistantships, tuition waivers.
